We are fighting against two large infrastructure projects:
A HIGH TENSION POWER LINE and a WIND TURBINE FARM
MATA is short for Malhada do Judeu, Água de Tabuas and Aporfiosa, 3 small hamlets 8km north of Santa Catarina de Fonte do Bispo, in Tavira District in the Eastern Algarve.
This area is one of Portugal’s most idyllic rural retreats, yet it is threatened by two massive, uncoordinated electricity infrastructure projects. Thus far, the legitimate concerns of local residents have been ignored by both government officials and the corporations that will profit from these endeavours.
