Members of the residents committee met with Sr. Fernando Viegas, Vereador das Infrastruturas and Sra. Carla Taveira, Directora do Departmento de Ambiente, Transito e Equipamentos for Tavira Câmara on Tuesday morning.
On the agenda were the high tension power lines and wind turbines planned for Sta Catarina Freguesia, which as was explained in the meeting, were a cause for concern for many living in the area. Various points were discussed, in particular the proximity of the planned structures to habitations and ruins, and also the lack of communication with the community to date.
The representatives of the Câmara stated that they will arrange a meeting with REN to answer any of the questions and concerns residents may have with regards to the project. We will inform everyone of the date for this once confirmed.
